Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Colombo, the largest city in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, transfer to Negombo for your overnight stay.

This morning, proceed to Dambulla and explore Golden Temple of Dambulla, which dates back to 100 BC and is located on a vast isolated rock mass that is 500 feet high and 5,280 feet wide at the base. Next, proceed to Sigiriya and head to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th century fortress in the sky which is built on a colossal rock. It is perhaps the most fantastic natural wonder on the island.

After breakfast, proceed to Kandy. Visit a spice garden where you can see lush spice plants such as cinnamon, cardamom and pepper. Feel free to purchase some spices if you like. In the afternoon, embark on a city tour of Kandy, which includes sights such as Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Kandyan Arts and Crafts Industrial Centre and a gem factory. Kandy was the last stronghold of Sinhalese empire before it was ceded to the British in 1815. It is a fine example of Buddhist influence in Sri Lanka today, as temples and monasteries keeping Buddhist traditions alive can be found everywhere. Visit the Temple of the Scared Tooth Relic which houses the tooth of Buddha that was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century, and is considered the country’s most prized possession. In the evening, catch a cultural show featuring the various dances of Sri Lanka. Then, return to your hotel for dinner.

This morning, transfer to the railway station for your scenic train ride journey to Nuwara Eliya, known as Sri Lanka’s Little England, where it is set against a beautiful backdrop of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. It is one of the coolest places in Sri Lanka and the weather is reminiscent of springtime in England. Upon arrival, visit a tea plantation and factory where you can see how tea leaves are processed into the famous Ceylon tea. Next, marvel at the strawberry field and get to bag home fresh and delicious Strawberry products at Strawberry Farm. Continue to Victoria Park, nested in middle of the Nuwara Eliya City. This park, filled with colourful flowers in blossom and where locals enjoy bird watching here.

Today, take a leisure walk to explore stunning locations of Sri Lanka’s hill country or you may want to take an optional morning hike to Horton plains, also known as The World’s End. Walk through mist-covered grasslands, green forests and countless streams. The only sound to be heard is that of the wind or bird’s singing, and the environment will make you feel you never want to go out of this peaceful world. Then, the trail will come to a sudden end at one point, from where one can see the world stretch out to all eternity. After lunch, leisure drive to Bentota. A laid-back coastal town on the south coast of Sri Lanka and the very essence of chilled holiday living.

After breakfast, take a morning visit to Dutch Fort in Galle. The oldest landmark and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka, when you embark on your city tour of Galle. Stroll around the lighthouse and harbour. Visit the old town where you can see the traditional wood carves and purchase some souvenirs. This noon, take a magical speed-boat ride down the beautiful Madu River, a wonderful way to explore and take a closer look at this complex wetland ecosystem; a world heritage site. Journey past local villages, stilt shops, little prawn farm, massive mangrove forests, glide under the canopy of the forest tunnels as they curve playfully towards the watercourse.

Today, head back to Colombo. En-route, visit a Turtle Hatchery and a must see when in the Southern province of Sri Lanka. Walk around the huge tanks with hatchlings and turtles of various sizes before they are released into the sea. Thereafter, embark on your city tour of Colombo. Drive through the city and pass by Cinnamon Gardens, a tree-lined residential area, before arriving at Colombo Fort and Pettah, the city’s commercial area, where you can do some shopping at local shopping mall before your transfer to the airport for your flight home.
